13 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® DECEMBER 2015 Breaking News The new Model 745ASC rubber flapper swing check valve with adjustable spring closure (ASC) was recently unveiled by Flomatic Corporation. It has an epoxy-coated ductile iron body with an encapsulated valve disk custom molded Buna-N, available in 3-inch to 14-inch sizes. The 745ASC is designed for high head, long pipe lines, multiple pump, and surge tank installations. The valve’s closure is spring-assisted to provide rapid closure through a short stroke of 45 degrees. The spring closure device is field-adjustable so it can be replaced in the field without removing the valve. This helps avoid slamming while allowing the valve disk to be stabilized under normal flow conditions.
