In Memoriam Donald M. “Don” Green (1933~2015) The WWDR Team was very saddened to hear of the passing of former Contributing Writer Donald M. “Don” Green. Following a period of declining health, he left this earth with his loving family by his side. Don was born in 1933, in Franklin, Pennsylvania, graduated high school, then enlisted with the U.S. Army. During this time, he earned the rank of Corporal and was awarded both the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After the military, Don began his working career with the former Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company. He had worked there for more than 32 years as a service engineer when the plant closed. Don then worked for both REICHdrill and Douglas Enterprises before becoming a drilling industry consultant in his retirement years. He was a lifetime member of the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department, along with local, state, and national Masonic Consistories and Lodges. Don was a devoted race car enthusiast, having made many race day Nascar trips to Florida. His neighbors will fondly remember him for plowing their driveways during the winter and mowing their lawns during the summer. Don is survived by his wife of 63 years Lorys “Doe”; daughters Linda (Monk) and Cindy (Michael); four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several siblings; and extended family. Thomas Frank “Tom” Huntington The geothermal heat pump industry lost one of its key leaders with the passing of Thomas Frank “Tom” Huntington on February 10, 2016. He was 63 years old. Born in Syracuse, New York, Tom earned a bachelors in engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology, and a masters in the same discipline at Syracuse University. He had a distinguished career in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning business, serving many roles. He concluded his career as the president and CEO of WaterFurnace International in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tom proudly served as chairman of the Geothermal Exchange Organization and Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association. Additionally, he was on the Board of Directors of the North American Technician Excellence and the planning board for the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute. An avid outdoorsman, Tom like hunting, fishing, woodworking, and home improvement projects. Tom is survived by his wife Susan; daughter Lindy (Mark); sons Daniel (Shauna) and Adam (Nikki); six grandchildren, and extended family. The management and staff of WWDR express their sympathies to Tom’s family, friends, and colleagues. Mary Louise “Wiz” Loucks (1941~2016) The Ontario Ground Water Association sadly reported the loss of Mary Louise “Wiz” Loucks on February 15, 2016. She was the beloved wife, best friend, and first mate to husband Larry for over 54 years. They worked together at Tillsonburg Pipe & Supply (now Wellmaster) and later at Canadian Pipe, for many years. Everyone called her Wiz because she was one! She enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, and traveling, but most of all spending time with her family. Wiz is survived by husband Larry; daughters Laurie (Godfrey) and Pamela (Brian); four grandchildren; one great- grandchild; and numerous other family. The management and staff of WWDR extend their condolences to Wiz’s family, friends, and former colleagues.
