WorldWide Drilling Resource

18 MARCH 2016 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Life’s Experiences by “Diamond” Dave Hose, Sales Representative WorldWide Drilling Resource ® You know we go through life and we make friends. Some of those friends become really close to you. I have one friend I have really grown to love and respect him very much. Frederick leroy Taylor was born on June 15, 1919, on a small farm close to Mt. Perry, Ohio. As a child he wrote a few poems, but only in his later years, to pass the time, did his poetry come to fruition. As a young man, Fred worked the family farm as well as neighboring farms doing whatever work was available. He was called to the u.S. Army in March of 1941, where he served five years through World War II. He married the lovely Mildred Ann Blackmon in Brownwood, Texas, on August 14, 1942, and they had four children. He returned home to buy a farm, his lifelong dream. To support the farming, he was a rural letter carrier for 25 years. He also preached the Gospel for 25 years at various churches through- out Ohio. He still has a bible study for men once a month at the Mt. Perry Presbyterian Church. Fred does not claim to be a good poet, but writes from his heart what comes to mind. I would like to honor him by occas- sionally sharing some of his poems with you. We hope you will enjoy his work as much as we do.
