WorldWide Drilling Resource
46 MARCH 2016 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® bauma Media Dialog Highlights - It is indeed a privilege to be asked by such a fine group at Messe München to cover their events. WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc. is proud to have this honor and Marcel, our production manager who just happens to be from Germany, was right at home there. Here is his view of the event. As I arrived in Germany, it was snowing as you can see by the photos I took with my phone and sent back to the office for posting on our Facebook Travel Page for all the world to see. The hotel was first class and left nothing to be desired - it provided everything, includ- ing a very great location - directly across from the event. Astonished at the number of bauma exhibitors who were eager to speak with us about their companies, products, and services, I returned to the united States with over 30 uSB devices packed with information. The only problem we have is the limited space available to print it all. But, you can believe me when I say, you SHOULD ATTEND bauma 2016 this April and of course, look for the “ red ” jackets - because we will be there too trying to take it all in. So, now on with the wonderful people and products you are so anxious to get a sneak preview about: The room was filled with people eager to talk about the products they are planning to unveil at bauma 2016, April 11-17, in Munich, Germany. The first stop I made was to visit our friends at Atlas Copco where Anja and Marita talked about the new machine monitoring system the company plans to introduce at this year’s event. They will also have the BenchREMOTE mobile control system and the SmartROC C50 drill rig on display. Then, I stopped to meet with Kelly and Zach with American Augers. They filled me in on the vast line of horizontal directional drills, surface miners, and augers they plan to bring to Germany. Talk about impressive! I moved on to the next table where I met Susanne with Hinowa. She filled me in on the company’s new tracked minidumper (HS701) which includes a gasoline Honda engine that will be on display. When I ran into Sandra and Andres from Volvo, I could tell they were excited about something, and boy was I right. Volvo Construction Equipment has BIG plans for the event, quite literally! The company will reveal the largest machines they have ever manufactured in addition to more than 15 new product launches. The next person I met with was Horst with Furukawa Rockdrill. He was glad to explain the new crawler drill being introduced at bauma 2016. The new crawler will fill the gap between two existing well-known models and is sure to be a hit. As the event began to wind down for the first day, I ran into a couple of companies I wasn’t familiar with, VMSSG and BBA Pumps. VMSSG products protect heavy machinery from fuel theft. The com- pany also offers alarm and warning devices to alert drivers of potential obstacles. What a winning combination! BBA Pumps, a company based in the Netherlands, plans to unveil its dewatering units consisting of new 4-, 8-, 12-, and 20-inch pump units. At this point in the evening, the Messe München staff changed into traditional Bavarian garb and prepared to transport us to a local brewery for the evening’s festivities. I was fortunate enough to be on the first shuttle, so I missed the rush hour traffic jam. The löwenbräukeller Brewery was stunning. Rich with history, this brewery has been around since 1883! What a beautiful setting for the evening. Soon, the room was filled with around 500 people. We were all treated to an evening of traditional Bavarian beer, food, and entertainment, we even got a visit from Elvis. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy the Schuhplattler dance, as well as the wood chopping show!
