The Power of Ten Compiled by Amy White Associate Editor WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Ever feel like there’s not enough time in the day to accomplish everything you need to? It’s a common stressor as we try desperately to mark all those items off our never-ending to-do lists. Although we would like to, most of the time, we simply cannot do it all in one day. All those pesky chores competing for your attention can be overwhelming. Sometimes not knowing where to begin can keep you from getting started at all; but it doesn’t have to! While you may not have several extra hours lying around in your day, chances are, you have a few small chunks of time you could put to better use. For example, think about what you can do in just ten minutes. A small, focused amount of time such as ten minutes can get you started, and possibly even finished if you focus. Next time you have a few minutes before you have to (fill in the blank), instead of wasting those moments, invest them in a task you really need to get done. In case you need help figuring out where to start, here’s a list of stuff you can easily do in ten minutes or less: With a few, wisely-plotted moments a day, you can start opening new space in your life for change. Think about it. It might not seem like much, but ten minutes given to your child on a consistent basis will make a big difference to them. Rather than getting frustrated because you haven’t done a major life overhaul yet, try to rec- ognize potential in the small amounts of time you have every day. You may be surprised what becomes of ten minutes and what becomes of you. 10 Minutes Later... Declutter your desk. Call and make an appointment. Make your bed. Read to your child. Vacuum your living room. Fold a load of laundry. Call someone. (A short talk is better than no talk!) Unload the dishwasher. Dust an area of the house. Lay out your clothes for the next day. Clean the toilet. Clean the trash out of your car. Take a short walk for exercise. Sweep the front porch. Write a little note to your significant other. Sort through the mail. Marcel: Thank you for fixing this for us. I wish everyone I dealt with was as great as you! Have a great day! Thank you, Tina M. Mitchell Keystone Drill Services, Inc.
