When I ook back, I can see how the good t mes and cha eng ng t mes a came together to make my un que h story. You see my p cture here and maybe you ve met me out on the road at a trade show or two. Maybe we ve even had the chance to have a conversat on about the ndustry that means so much to us a - dr ng. Dr ng has def n te y p ayed an mportant ro e n my persona story and he ped br ng me where I am today. I d ke to take th s opportun ty to share a b t of my background w th you. From 1964 to 1971, I was an av at on e ectr c an n the U.S. Navy. I trave ed to severa countr es, but most of my t me was spent serv ng three tours n V etnam, as a gunner on a boat up and down the Cua V et R ver; then as Crew Ch ef on a Doug as C-47 a rcraft. After return ng to the states, I marr ed my wonderfu w fe M dred “Inez”, and we began our journey together. I a so began dr v ng a tractor tra er, and moved o and gas r gs across severa states unt 1980. I moved on to a job at Wampum Hardware Company, where I was a truck dr ver, b aster, and eventua y a sa esman for the exp os ves ndustry. In 1991, I went to work for Stockda e M ne Supp y as a route sa esman, warranty adm n strator, renta manager, and dr r g sa esman. I rema ned n th s ro e unt 2009, then began do ng some sub- contract ng for the company. I came to work w th WorldWide Drilling Resource ® for most of 2010, unt my knee requ red surgery. In my next career adventure, I so d fe nsurance unt my w fe began to suffer from dement a. I qu t work and stayed home w th Inez unt her batt e was over n 2013 (RIP Hon). From 2013 to 2015, I worked for Keystone Dr Serv ce, de ver ng arge down- the-ho e hammers to o and gas operat ons n the Ut ca Sha e Bas n. I took a course through the M ne Safety and Hea thAdm n strat on (MSHA) and prov ded safety tra n ng to emp oyees of d fferent o compan es, as we . A of these exper ences f na y ed me back here to WWDR . In my current ro e as d sp ay sa es manager, I ve had the chance to reconnect w th o d fr ends n the dr ng ndustry, and I p an to stay busy mak ng new fr ends a ong the way!
