WorldWide Drilling Resource

by Tim Rasmussen This is the season of goodwill and for being thankful and celebrating the good things in our lives: family, friends, loved ones. Water For Life has many friends who make our work possible, and many fam- ily members who actually do the work. We want to thank them all, and to express our gratitude for their efforts and contributions. The list is long, but I want to mention a few of our faithful supporters. First, I will mention the companies which regularly contribute to our work: Mitchell, Lewis & Staver has provided deeply discounted pumps for us for many years. Baker Manufacturing Company has also provided hand pumps at similar discounts, and this year provided some pumps free of charge. These units serve the people in remote villages very well. Preferred Pump, Norco, and Norlift are companies with offices in our area which give us deep discounts and have donated equipment to fill our needs. CETCO ® provides pallets of bentonite every year. Tom Richardson and H2O Drilling and Pump Service of Hayden, Idaho, provides steel casing, welders, and other items as we have need. Innovative Solutions for Medicine pro- vides thousands of pounds of medical equipment which we pass on to the Peten Ministry of Health. Alsco linens has also provided thousands of pounds of hospital linens and bedding. Carl Pixley of Viola, Idaho, donated two drilling rigs which will be very useful. George Robinson of Salem, Oregon, also donated a 22W rig. These tools will serve many years and provide parts to keep us going. A local Christian radio station, KEEH, Shine 104.9, has an annual funding drive which contributes significantly to our financial picture. We also have received grants from the National Ground Water Association to install wells. Our list of faithful volunteers grows each year. These folks travel to Guatemala each year, donating time and effort: Jon and Chris Hansen, Bucky Mowrey, Speedy Gonzales, Dominic Parmentier, Dave Rutledge, Pat and Marilee Clark, Bob Perry, Bob Cole, Tom Richardson, Lynn Avandano, Mike Hammers, Jay Gallagher, Arlen Van Mourik and family. There are many others who support and help us by donating money and machinery, and even this article space in WWDR each month, but there are just too many to list them all. Water For Life thanks you all, but the people who are most thankful are the poor people who were drinking filthy water before Water For Life came to their village. They thank you for what you have done for them and their children. Your contributions have made a difference in their lives.
