13 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® JULY 2017 Numa U.S. Plant Invests in Manufacturing Capabilities Numa announced an expansion of its manufacturing capabilities at its U.S. plant to keep up with growing demand for its DTH (down the hole) hammers and bits. Over the past several years, the company has invested in manufacturing to tackle the demands of building the world’s leading DTH equipment. The latest addition is a Doosan Puma 3100 which is a composite turning center combining the functions of both a lathe and a machining center. Complicated parts which required multiple machines and setups can now be completed by just one unit and one setup. The new equipment will improve productivity, precision, and ease of operation for the company and improve its ability to manufacture quality products in a timely manner for cus- tomers. WHO’S IN THE NEWS Service Wire Company has named Charlie Weisberg their national sales manager of pump and irrigation. This position will give him companywide responsibility for pump and irrigation product sales. Weisberg has been with Service Wire since 1989, serving as their regional sales manager of the western region since 2003.
