I was there with Tuajuana, my son Sean and his girlfriend, the miners and their families, and other interested people. The meeting place was about 1½ hours east of Cottage Grove into the Cascade Range, on top of a mountain, next to a fire watchtower. From it, you could see Mount Hood to the north, approximately 125 miles to some snow-capped mountains. Looking east 50+ miles, you could see the Three Sisters and Mount Mazama which holds Crater Lake. To the west over 80 miles, you look across the Willamette Valley to the Coast Range. It looks very pretty, wild, and desolate. There was even some snow still on all the higher mountains. The world does not look inhabited at all from there. A couple of weeks since then, there were forest fires. The visibility was ½-mile in some places. Firefighters and equipment were hard at work, and there was smoke from California and into Canada because of the fires. Can you imagine what it would be like without the firefighters with equipment, trucks, planes, and helicopters? Picture this, and you may see what it was like thousands of years ago when fires were started by lightning or other natural causes. There was no help from man to put out the fires. They just burned until something natural put them out. Firefighting requires water; so when a city, town, or next-door neighbor is worried about taking water from their well or aquifer, we need to first find out if it is a fact. To prove it, we can put dye in one well to see if it goes to another. If so, it will be in the same aquifer; and the well you are putting the dye in, would be upstream from the other well. To drill into an aquifer which has been hit someplace then hit it again on purpose would take extreme accuracy. I only know of two who might me able to do this - Mr. Brown or Mr. Carswell, and they are in Kentucky and Alabama.
