A Fantastic Drilling & Foundations Event by Ed Moranski, Chief Marketing Officer WorldWide Drilling Resource ® The WWDR Team headed across the pond for the GEOFLUID Drilling & Foundations, the 22nd International Exhibition & Conference of Technology and Equipment for Prospecting, Extracting, and Conveying Underground Fluids being held at the PiacenzaExpo in Piacenza, Italy. Marcel and I set up the booth and scoped out the expo floor before we headed off to the hotel for some food and much- needed sleep. The crowds were large, and excitement in the air was preva- lent as we made our way through the expo on opening day. Did someone say red jackets? Yes, the WWDR trademark red jackets were in motion on the floor doing what we do best. My Italian was poor and Marcel’s was no better, but we had no trouble commu- nicating as we maneuvered our way through the halls. When we say WorldWide we mean it. Many exhibitors knew who we were and what the publication is all about. It was nice to be recognized so far from home. Italy sure knows how to put on an expo! The displays both inside and out were ready for attendees. The outside displays were large and offered many opportunities to inspect and talk with the manufacturers on hand displaying their equipment. The offerings of food and beverage were outstanding. Was this a food event or a drilling event? The diet went out the window as I felt like a kid in a candy store making my way from booth to booth. It is always nice to meet new folks and see old friends when covering the many events the WWDR Team attends throughout the year, and thi s show was no exception. Marcel guided our renta l car to and from the event on the roads of Italy .
