It was a rough one for the Panhandle of Florida, where this magazine is located, after Hurricane Michael came through. Try this on - NO Electricity, NO cell phone service, NO internet, but worst of all, people had no homes, businesses, or jobs to go back to when it was “supposedly gone”. In reality, it was NOT. To this day, in the city of Chipley just east of us, I see tents on the lawn of the Catholic Church. I hear on the news of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints members coming from other states to help put tarps on roofs, distribute food, the Army Corps of Engineers, and more, lending their hands. Neighbors helping neighbors, people from afar coming to what they describe as they leave, “devastation, which I had no idea could happen anywhere” - “it’s like a bombed zone” - and much more. Words just cannot describe the pain and mental suffering that has and is still happening. Even to this day, hospitals are transferring incoming patients to other hospitals, since windows were blown out - eight-story buildings had water blow through them. It is truly unbelievable. Do you know what someone giving you a pillow to put your tired head down on - or for your child to clutch close to their heart means? I believe it’s security and caring. I’m sure you have seen the commercials on TV of the “My Pillow” guy. Yes, he came and passed out thousands of his “take anywhere My Pillows”. The smiles and sighs of “thank-you” as he came through - not asking for anything, just trying to do something - and yes he did. Of course, there was no national media around to capture that act of kindness. And you wouldn’t have known it if it wasn’t here in WorldWide Drilling Resource ® . If you think of it - drop him a note of thanks. So, as we sit down to enjoy our holidays and what we have, please say a little prayer for all those who may be less fortunate then we are.
