Perhaps we should take some time early this year to “pay it forward”. What? Someone else wants money? No, that’s not what I mean. Although we all could use a hand- out, or rather a hand up from time to time. I’m talking about what these guys are doing with these young men. These photos were taken at various places, by various people, at various times. They reflect men giv- ing their time, going through their respective activities with these children. Doesn’t really have to be men, but that is who was in these particular photos. See how each man is holding the hand of the little boy - I’d say perhaps each of them is between 3-6 years old - as they walk along, let’s just wonder the conversation each of them is having. I can imagine it is a “teaching exercise”? Children at that age are so eager to learn - sometimes to the point you may feel “enough of the whys!” - but remember, someone took the time to teach us the answer to “why?” Or perhaps they showed us how to find the answer ourselves. This is a great way to begin the New Year of 2018 , I think. By paying it forward in this manner, we are helping to shape the future. We here at WWDR have been fortunate to have spent so many years with so many friends, shar- ing in their children’s as well as grandchildren’s lives as they grew up. They were shaping the future of those children as well. Here is a photo of John L’Espoir’s two grandchildren, whom many will remem- ber at trade events as young gentlemen with their suits and official business cards from Enid Drill Systems! They have surely grown up to be fine young men; with one starting his adventures defending our freedom here in the United States of America and the other completing high school. The Atwood’s had a hand in their shaping as well, of course, as their parents! This truly is, Ronnie’s Real World . . . Be sincere. Be simple in words, man- ners, and gestures. Amuse as well as instruct. If you can make a man laugh, you can make him think and make him like and believe you. ~ Alfred E. Smith Stress is like a violin string. If there’s no tension, there’s no music. But if the string is too tight, it breaks. You want to find the right level of tension for you - the level that makes harmony in your life. ~ Allen Elkin We tend to think of the rational as a higher order, but it is the emotional that marks our lives. One often learns more from ten days of agony than from ten years of contentment. ~ Merle Shain WorldWide Drilling Resource ®
