19 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® JULY 2018 Making it Easier to Pull a Submersible Pump Adapted from Information by Pul-A-Pump of PA, Inc. Pul-A-Pump of PA, Inc. was originally founded in 1992 by Jeanne and Robert Wilbert in Stockholm, New Jersey. As a young pump installer, Bob was searching for a simple, easy-to-use device for his pump business. After four years and countless hours of design and field testing, he produced his track belt pump puller. In 2014, after years of manufacturing, Jeanne and Bob were ready for a well- deserved retirement. So when Paul Gerner contacted the company to purchase a machine for his pump replacement business, the couple informed him there was only one way - buy the company. That’s just what he did. Paul de- cided to move both the manufacturing and the company’s headquarters to his hometown of Coudersport, Pennsylvania. Jeanne and Bob made several trips to Pennsylvania to help setup the new facility and guide Paul through the manufacturing process. PUL-A-PUMP ® provides portable, one-man mobile well pulling with stainless steel and aluminum construction on 16-inch wheels and weighs only about 180 pounds. The machine’s powerful track system is capable of providing 700 pounds of lift with users being able to pull or set 50 feet per minute. This innovative piece of equipment can also be used for geothermal wells . This incredible design is very durable, with machines over 25 years old still pulling pumps in the field today. The belt drives swing apart easily, providing a full view into the well. It automatically adjusts to varying diameters when passing pitless adapters, torque stops, plastic wire guides, and well pumps. WTR Ronnie’s Real World Ever feel like “pulling your hair out”? It’s about that time for a great many of us, I believe. Do you have too much on your plate? Do you read those same articles about “time management” that I do? Do you enjoy seeing those Facebook posts about cabins in the mountains with beds on the porch and a stream trickling by? Or per- haps you like the ones where the oceans go on forever, and you are on a cruise ship. OK, enough of that! SNAP OUT OF IT! THIS ISN’T a DREAM, and YOU DON’T HAVE TIME TO DAYDREAM! If you work for someone else, try getting up a little earlier each morning, arriving at the office just a few minutes earlier, and smile as you greet - and yes I mean GREET, don’t frown - greet everyone with a smile. Yes, I do believe smiles are contagious. If you smile at someone and nod your head or say good morning as you enter a building to whomever you may meet, they notice you and it makes your day that much easier to handle. It gives more value to the start of your day, and if you continue that throughout the day, you begin a great new habit that will bring YOU and countless others happiness. Now, if you manage or even own a company, you are not above this approach to a better day - and in the long run this will help you get yourself organized. How? Well now, really think about it. If you sit at your desk and are frowning, that frown is contagious too! So everyone is frowning, not really thinking about what they need to do, nor are they or you thinking about the other people around you or in your life elsewhere. Everyone needs and deserves a smile. You may think me a little off this month, but if you know me and any of the WWDR Team, you know we do this everywhere we go. No one is beyond a smile, a nod, a good morning. It bothers me either to feel someone thinks they are better than a smile or nod, or if they are less than a smile or a nod. Guess what . . . Whether you want it or not - from this WWDR Team - YOU are getting our smiles, our nods, and our good mornings, good afternoons, and good evenings. This truly is, Ronnie’s Real World . . .
