Texans Benefit from the State’s Flourishing Industry Adapted from Information by the Texas Oil & Gas Association Recent data from the Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) indicates the Texas oil and natural gas industry paid over $11 billion in state / local taxes, and state royalties in 2017. This is a strong increase from the $9 billion paid the pre- vious year. “The remarkable and sustained recovery of the Texas oil and natural gas industry is benefitting our state and local economies, providing the equivalent of $30 million a day for our schools, univer- sities, roads, and first responders,” said Todd Staples, president of TXOGA. When it comes to being number one in oil and natural gas production, pipeline miles, and refining in the country, the cit- izens of Texas are seeing a difference. In addition to increased state and local revenue, the state also witnessed steady nat- ural gas and oil job growth throughout the 2017 fiscal year, with the industry supporting more than 308,000 direct jobs. The gas and oil industry of Texas is also having national impact. Last year, the U.S. became a net exporter of natural gas, and those exports are expected to increase more than tenfold in 2019, thanks in part to the seven LNG (liquified natural gas) facilities planned, or under construction in Texas. Recently, the Port of Corpus Christi Commission approved a new marine terminal facility along the Texas Gulf Coast to export U.S. crude, condensate, and refined petroleum products. The commission entered into a lease agreement with Corpus Christi Infrastructure LLC for roughly 55 acres of land on the north side of the Corpus Christi ship channel for a new oil dock. The port’s oil exports have increased 267% from 2016 to 2017, from an average of 83,488 barrels per day to 306,334 barrels per day. “These energy outcomes were unthink- able a decade ago and they are a direct result of Texans’ dedication to innovation and consistent regulations and policies,” Staples stated. “While our ability to pro- duce unprecedented amounts of oil and natural gas is a major contributor to our global leverage, production is only part of the story. Policy that encourages growth in the entire oil and natural gas sector is key to the Texas success story and is the foundation of our energy future. Sound, science-based policy at the state and federal levels will allow the Texas oil and natural gas industry to continue to secure our economy, our environment, and our future,” he concluded. 25 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® JULY 2018 Call toll-free (844) 716-1484 E-mail: dan@westernwellrepair.com Website: westernwellrepair.com California C57 Contractor's License # 1031626 Four Generations of Experience in the Water Well Business - Since 1929 New Method For Sealing Off Contaminated Areas In Water Wells!
