This year was no exception. In fact, our host Jose Garcia-Piñeyro proudly announced this year’s event had a record number of exhibitors. The keynote speaker, Mr. Daniel Huard, principal for Humann Building Solutions, enlightened the group about how much water is taken for granted, and gave us some interesting facts. Like, did you know one in six people on earth lack access to an improved water supply? That’s more than one billion people, a number expected to increase drastically by 2025. He also gave us some useful information about con- servation efforts. One of the unique things about The Water Expo is the Matchmaking sessions, which connects vendors with consumers. This open forum allows delegates from Latin America and The Caribbean to meet exhibitors and discuss future partnerships. There were also plenty of educational opportunities, ven- dor exhibits, and equipment demonstrations. The Water Expo had everything from trenchers, portable bathrooms, and vacuum trucks, to pumps, sliplining and pipebursting equipment, as well as under- water drones and so much more!
