In Memoriam Ed M. Smith, Jr. (1928~2018) Ed M. Smith, Jr. of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away on June 4, 2018, at the age of 89. After graduating high school in 1948, Ed joined his father’s construction company. He later became a high- ly regarded explosives specialist and consultant. He was a found- ing member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers, serving as president from 1983 to 1985. Ed is survived by his daughter Nancy, granddaughter Brenna, and other family. He was preceded in death by his wife Lora and son Ed III. David Lee “Dave” Andrews, Sr. (1942~2018) The South Carolina Ground Water Association (SCGWA) sadly reported the loss of long-time member David Lee “Dave” Andrews, Sr. of Cayce, South Carolina, on September 24, 2018. He retired from HD Supply after 53 years of employment, and was added to the SCGWA Honor Roll in 2010. Dave is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grethel Mae; daughter Wanda (Mark); son Davy (Celli); grand- children Chad, Brandon (Meghan), and Kimberly; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The management and staff of WWDR extend their condolences to these industry gentlemen’s family and friends.
