My first stop was Flomatic Corporation in Glens Falls, New York. What a nice location. It was good to see President Bo Anderson and Vice President of Sales & Marketing Nick Farrara. Bo gave me a grand tour of the facility. Wow! I never knew so much went into the manu- facturing of valves. Roth Global Plastics in Syracuse, was next in line. This town is a place of many opportunities with lots to see and do. The road being long, it was time to head down the highway. I met Paul from PUL-A-PUMP in Pennsylvania. What a solid and versa- tile machine! Susan at REICHdrill greeted me with a warm smile. This is where the green drills are made. The day was getting late and I had to run, so there was no time for a tour - maybe next time I am in the area. It’s always nice to see the gang at Star Iron Works. I can’t help but think of the movie “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray when I am in Punxsutawney. Right down the roadwas Hoffman Diamond Products, but I missed Frank. He was already on his way to Ohio. The NDA 2018 Convention was held at the Bertram Inn & Conference Center in Aurora, Ohio. If you weren’t there, you missed a lot. This convention gets bigger and better each year. Lots of hard work goes into it. The golf outing was at the Boulder Creek Golf Club, a nice course. I was glad to have a cart to take pictures, since there were lots of hills. The exhibitors were all set and the room was packed. A storm rolled in just before the Presidents BBQ. The NDA staff made some adjustments and still pulled off a great event. Rob Caho of Geoprobe ® did a nice job filling in for President Mike Willey who was unable to attend. Industry speakers had the auditorium full. What a great lineup of professionals to enlighten and educate - such a nice association to be part of. A road trip would not be complete without some interesting weather. Heading home, I hit some doozy storms complete with rain, wind, and tornado warnings. I don’t care to repeat that!
