Libyan Exploration Efforts to Recommence Adapted from a Press Release by Eni National Oil Corporation (NOC) signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) which will begin the process for Eni to acquire a 42.5% stake in BP’s Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) in Libya. The goal is to increase explo- ration and development within the country and promote Libya’s investment environment. Additionally, the LOI will reinforce the commitment the companies have made to contribute to social development in the country, including education and techni- cal training programs. This agreement will assist the acquisition process for Eni to obtain its stake of areas currently held by BP which holds an 85% working interest of the second party share in three blocks, two onshore and one offshore. The Libyan Investment Authority owns the remaining 15%. “This is an important milestone that will help to unlock Libyan exploration potential by resuming EPSA operations that have remained suspended since 2014. It contributes towards creating an attractive investment environment in the country, aimed at restoring Libya’s production levels and reserve base by optimizing the use of existing Libyan infrastructure,” stated Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi. NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla is proud of the prospects this arrangement brings. “This agreement is a clear signal and recognition by the market of the oppor- tunities Libya has to offer and will only serve to strengthen our production outlook. The agreement’s social development guarantee is an important sign of our joint com- mitment to our staff and the communities in which we work. This initiative will hope- fully drive further inward investment and facilitate higher production levels,” he stated. The parties intend to restart exploration activities some time this year. BP Group Chief Executive Bob Dudley is looking forward to the future stating, “This is an important step towards returning to our work in Libya. We believe that working closely together with Eni and with Libya will allow us to bring forward restarting exploration in these promising areas.” The LOI was signed by NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla; BP Group Chief Executive Bob Dudley; and ENI CEO Claudio Descalzi in London, United Kingdom. 16 MARCH 2019 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® 302-684-3197 FAX: 302-384-0643 142 Broadkill Rd. • Milton, DE 19968 www.atlantic-screen.com email: atlantic@ce.net Manufacturers of Slotted & Perforated Pipe ranging from ½” to 24” diameter Atlantic Screen & Mfg., Inc. • Well Rehab. Adapted from Information by Central Mine Equipment Company Central Mine Equipment (CME) Company announced sales representative Kurt Jaeger, has retired after more than 37 years of service. Kurt began working with CME on November 2, 1977, as a bench welder at the factory in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked his way to a lead man position on the manufacturing floor and in 1983, led the crew that built the first CME-850 track drill. In May of 1985, Kurt left the company to pursue a career behind a drill rig. He went to work for an engineering firm as a member of the drill crew on a CME-45B rig. He moved on from there to a job in drilling equipment sales with Brainard-Kilman who, at the time, was an authorized distributor of CME equipment. When he left there, he became a drill shop and fleet manager for a large engineering firm in the Southeast. These experiences prepared Kurt for his CME homecoming. In 1988, Kurt returned to CME in a supportive role with the outside sales team. He performed field warranty repairs and equip- ment upgrades. He also delivered machines and staged equipment for demonstrations and mar- keting efforts. Kurt traveled all over the United States for CME during this time. His international travels for the company included Suriname, Korea, Puerto Rico, Peru, Chile, Japan, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Canada, and Jamaica. In 1998, Kurt was given a sales territory which included Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana, Colorado, and Florida. He also worked with Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic. He was very successful in his sales efforts. More importantly, Kurt made many friends and built relationships that will last well beyond his years at CME.
