Award recipients have worked with their commu- nities in a number of ways including local events, donations, and volunteer services as well as local and state government in- volvent, media relations, and educational opportunities. LafargeHolcim had two of its quarries receive the NSSGA 2018 Excellence in Community Relations Award. Lattimore Materials Stringtown Quarry in Stringtown, Oklahoma, received the platinum award, and the Lafarge Presque Isle Quarry in Presque Isle, Michigan, received a bronze award. Stringtown Quarry is one of the oldest and largest limestone mines in southern Oklahoma. The mine has been a central feature in the small town of Stringtown since it began operations around 100 years ago. As a busi- ness which is highly visible to the public, a significant emphasis is placed on developing and maintaining a strong partnership with the community. This commitment has lead to the Stringtown Quarry be- coming a trusted and valued part of the community through its various outreach initiatives. “We are thrilled NSSGA has recognized two of our sites for their efforts in building strong, long-lasting relationships within their com- munities and for always striving to be a good neighbor,” said Guy Edwards, CEO of the US Aggregate Construction Materials organi- zation. “Our commitment to giving back to the communities in which we live and work has always been a priority at LafargeHolcim, and we plan to continue being a leader in this area within the industry.” Be Sure To Join Us Once Again at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center, Red Deer, AB, Canada April 25 - 27, 2019 Technical Sessions Entertainment Regulations and Information • Annual Meeting Drilling Rigs and New Technology Displays Alberta Water Well Drilling Association Convention and Trade Show For More Information Contact the AWWDA Phone: (780) 386-2335 • E-mail: awwda@xplornet.com 18 MARCH 2019 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® The Stringtown Quarry.
