WorldWide Drilling Resource

64 JUNE 2013 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Polymer Receives Approval Adapted from Information by Baroid Industrial Drilling Products Baroid Industrial Drilling Products has received approval for POLY-BORE™ in the State of Florida required under Section 455-15.8.2 Polymer Slurry on Shafts for Miscellaneous Structures. Additional ly, the Department of Transportation has added POLY-BORE to the list of approved polymer slurries effective immediately. The POLY-BORE stabilizing agent is a very high molecular weight, partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (PHPA) poly- mer. When mixed with freshwater, a small quantity of POLY-BORE stabilizing agent can provide a clear, solid-free, viscous borehole stabilizing fluid for use in drilled shaft, auger drilling, horizontal directional boring, trenching excavation and reverse circulation (RC) rotary drilling. It is a free- flowing, water soluble, easy mixing, 100% active, dry granular polymer. In Memoriam David Edward “Dave” Ondrejko (1950~2013) David Edward “Dave” Ondrejko, 62, passed away March 24, 2013. He was born on July 3, 1950, in Zanesville, Ohio. Starting out as an explosives crew member, Dave worked his way to blaster and site manager during his 41 years with D.W. Dickey/Hilltop Energy. He was a former member and past president of the Lisbon Lions Club and a member of the International Society of Explosives Engineers. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and member of the American Legion. Dave is survived by his wife Amy, daughter Jillian (MalVerne), and four grandchildren. The management and staff of WWDR express their condolences to Dave’s family and friends. Some of the advantages of the POLY-BORE stabilizing agent include:  Easily dispersable with minimal shear  Efficient shale/clay stabilizer and viscosifier  Does not require solids control unit to clean the slurry  Helps maintain a stable and gauge borehole  Helps maximize skin friction and ultimate end bearing capacity for a drilled shaft  Non-fermenting  No petroleum distillates involved  Can be broken down chemically with bleach (sodium hypochlorite)  NSF/ANSI Standard 60 certified 64, ;6 ;/, #<5:/05, #;(;, (5+ 1605 ;/, (;065(3 903305. ::6*0(;065 65=,5;065 *;6),9 '?5+/(4 (2, <,5( &0:;( ",:69; (2, <,5( &0:;( 93(5+6 3690+( #<):<9-(*, 5=,:;0.(;065 !<(30-0*(;065 6<9:, (95 96-,::065(3 ,=,3674,5; 6<9: >0;/ ;/,:, #,405(9: /6:7/(;, 5+<:;90,: (5+ #052/63, ",3(;,+ 961,*;: ,67/?:0*: ",3(;065:/07 >0;/ 903305. 8<074,5; 779(0:(3: <:05,:: 779(0:(3: '/(; $/,? 9, '/(; $/,? ,(5 '/(; $6 6 '0;/ $/,4 903305.
