ChemGrout, Inc. in LaGrange Park, Illinois, is celebrating its 50 th year. With the energy and drive of people half his age, Ben Schatz, president and owner of the company, continues to lead ChemGrout ® into the future. With the increased need for grout- ing equipment worldwide, Ben and his son Joe have no plans of slowing down any- time soon. In the early years, Ben performed field jobs all over the world, manufactur- ing grouting equipment for his own use. The equipment caught the eye of many experienced grouters who liked the simplicity and ease of operation. Soon, ChemGrout was manufacturing equip- ment for not only themselves, but for oth- ers in the growing grouting industry. It wasn’t long before the company decided to phase out the field work alto- gether and concentrate on manufactur- ing. The equipment line and company have grown and evolved over the years, from its humble beginnings of only 2 employees to its current 32. The company manufactures cemen- titious grouting equipment used for min- ing, tunneling, highways, foundations, hydroelectric dams, bridges, environmen- tal remediation, geothermal, and geo- technical projects around the world.
