(EDM) opened for business in 1987, with a goal of offering cus- tomers a line of down-the-hole hammers which were competive- ly priced without sacrificing per- formance or quality. Over the past 25 years, the company has exceeded those goals and proven their knowledge is on par with their distinguished competitors. The company began manufacturing just a few hammers in the beginning, and now they offer a full line of hammers ranging from 4-12 inches and options to enable them to work with nearly any air package. The company also manufac- tures bits for many of the hammers they produce. The company’s latest development is the P Series of hammers designed to drill under large volumes of water. These hammers, available in five or six inches, run with no foot valve, and operate with any QL5 bit for the P5 or QL6 bit for the P6 ham- mer by simply removing the foot valve. The EDM P5 and P6 are the ultimate all-around hammers and are one of the fastest production 6-inch tools in the world. The P Series of tools consist of DTH hammers great for geothermal drilling. These tools will run even when they encounter water and are designed to not flood out so drill operators can continue drilling. EDM's BB Series of hammers were designed to blast through the toughest rock. They are without a doubt some of the finest production hammers ever built. The performance of these hammers is unparalleled in today's market. There are three hammers in the BB series. The BB5 is a 5-inch hammer with a QL5 shank. The BB6 is a 6-inch hammer with a QL6 shank avai lable in both standard OD (outside diameter) and heavy duty. And last, but not least the BB8 has a QL80 shank. All three hammers have thread designs for easy joint breaking, valve- less porting, and a proven piston design.
