The Sullivan-Palatek Team includes several employees from drilling and rig manufacturing backgrounds. This gives them a unique perspective; after all, it’s always good to stick with what you know! In 2007, the company decided to purchase 33 acres to build a new 160,000 square-foot state-of-the-art manufactur- ing facility in Michigan City, Indiana. By 2010, the electric industrial air com- pressor division was merged with the diesel-driven portable air compressor division in the new facility. Now, the com- pany is able to produce all inventory, portable and industrial compressors, and air ends in one location. There is also plenty of room for future expansion. This move gives those in the industry a source for reliable compressor units in a wide range of capacities and pressures. In 2008, the company was presented wi t h t he Bus i ness Investment Award from t he Mi ch i gan Ci t y Economic Development Committee. The Association o f E q u i p m e n t Manufacturers pre- sented the company with the 2012 I Make America Pillar of the Industry Award . This award is presented to companies exhibiting dedication to the peo- ple and communities o f t he equ i pmen t manufacturing indus- tries. Sul l ivan-Palatek, Inc. began as Palatek Corporation in 1984 to supply engineering services to existing air com- pressor companies. By 1991, the company introduced the Ultimate Performance Rotary Screw Ai r Compressor. Dur ing 1994, the company was sold to GHS Corporation. In 1998, Sullivan-Palatek was formed as a trade name for both the electric and portable compressor industries. The company manufactures station- ary electric motor-driven compressors from 5-800 horsepower and engine-dri- ven units from 185-3600 cfm and pres- sures to 500 psi.
