WorldWide Drilling Resource

60 APRIL 2014 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® course? This premise continues when the subject of how to motivate a peaceful discourse toward resolution arises. What motives can we provide which result in this blueprint toward building peace? This most important aspect of life is seriously overlooked - OMITTED!! One’s true power is to fully understand what your individual motivations are. How are you using them to build your daily life? Family life? Business life? What measures do you allow yourself toward understanding another’s point of view? Encourage your children to discuss their differences! Compromise to a solu- tion! Are you motivated to allow the equality of your spouse in family mat- ters? There is NOTHING more rich and powerful than building these components into every nuance of every decision re- quired for rewarding yourself and others. Demonstrate they are vitally important in your life. Leave a blueprint to follow! The statements and comments in this article are my own and are based on information and references believed to be true and factual. However, in searching my personal data- base I found this subject is indeed very personal. I arrived at this conclusion by questioning friends, clients, and more importantly family members. I was more than shocked at their responses. It seems what motivates one person can be the cause of major disagreements. What a revelation! I have seriously come to the con- clusion that each and every conversa- tion includes an aspect of motive. What determines individual motivation is secret- ly, deeply, hidden in gender, belief sys- tems, truths, geographics, values - the list continues infinitely. War machines have been built and fought over the difference of how fiercely one person views and defends their point of view, no matter how trivial, pushing their need to be right. Why is this so important? Does it serve a power thing? How does one learn to listen to the nuances of the opinions of what moti- vates another? How does one escape a pitfall of these differences accelerat- ing into a full-blown quarrel that dissolves a lifetime of friendship, a marriage, or business partnership? When does one have the opportu- nity to learn to debate both sides of an issue? Where and when is one taught “common sense”? Much more discouraging, it is in matter of fact obsolete - missing from humanity. Another value of point missing - seems to be willingness to compromise! What chance does the current youth of this generation have to learn what motivates them to choose a construc- tive course of action when the adults in this society can’t, by example, provide a workable model as a blueprint for dis- 6>5 ,)4) *-1%//; 34-/ "3)%4*-5, 2/-(%; 11 %1( 218)16-21 )16)4 ,21) = 24 21/-1) 4220 &22.-1+ 75) +4273 '2() $ 999 ,2/-(%; -11 '20 53)%4*-5,5( !-', %44; 21*)4)1') 224(-1%624 4-', &%44; +96' 1)6 24 024) -1*240%6-21 24 62 4)+-56)4 21/-1) +2 62 13'-5)) 24+ ")) ;27 6,)4) "',)(7/) $)(1)5(%; !)+-564%6-21 = /%; ",226 2/* "'4%0&/) %1( 4%<; 245) 2716%-1 #274 = 71', 22/5-() = :,-&-65 3)1 = ")55-215 = 4-0)4 274 #,745(%; !)+-564%6-21 :,-&-65 3)1 = ")55-215 %1( 22/5-() 71', = 2256)4 274 = 9%4(5 %1( -8) "',2/%45,-3 7'6-21 4-(%; :,-&-65 ?")55-215 *2//29)( &; 71', 22/5-() In Memoriam Michael F. McDaniel, Jr. (1966~2014) A tragic accident took the life of Michael F. McDaniel, Jr., a 48-year-old general foreman in the water and sewer divi- sion of the Department of Public Works (DPW) of Natick, Massachusetts. According to reports, he and another worker were repairing a water main break when the backhoe they were using tipped over and pinned them. The other man was critically injured, but is recovering. Michael was born and raised in Natick, and had been with the DPW for 26 years. He was a devoted family man who loved the outdoors, fishing, working in his garden, doing projects, playing sports, and riding bikes with his young daughter. He is survived by his wife Kathleen and daughter Caroline, and many other family members. The management and staff of WorldWide Drilling Resource ® express their heartfelt sympathies to Michael’s family, friends, and colleagues.
