WorldWide Drilling Resource

31 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® AUGUST 2014 Water/Gas Exploration by Harold White I travel a lot of miles each year - about 10,000 plus - studying what water, oil, and gas can do, and how it does what it does. All the fluids are moving fluids. If a dam or fault happens to stop one of these creeks, the fluids keep moving - it does not just stop, it has to go someplace. And it does. At Thousand Springs, Idaho, the Snake River has made a canyon that cut down through the lava, leaving high cliffs. The underground creeks and rivers coming from the north have nowhere to go, so they just gush out and fall down the cliff as waterfalls. They go into lakes, the Snake River, and into the ocean. It is kind of a picture of what I was talking about when I wrote the article about the best dam is the natural water cycle. The rain cycle - science says water goes into the ground about three to eight feet per year at different depths. It even- tually goes into different creeks and is returned to the ocean. This is also a cleaning cycle, among other things. If water could go through the ground at ten feet per year and a drought oc- curred, it would take ten years to go from ground level to a well pump if it was at 100 feet. In other words, the pump would pump the same for ten days, then start showing the effects of the drought in the creek. On the cliff walls, the thousand springs are coming out at different lev- els. This is a cutaway picture of what is going on underground. The underground creeks are flowing fast, as you can see from the photo below. I have found that every well pump- ing a large or small amount of any fluid is pumping out of a creek of that kind of fluid. If geologists say they have no way of finding these creeks and rivers before drilling, then all wells have been hit by accident; and this may give you an idea that there is a tremendous amount of water, oil, and gas creeks and rivers underground moving someplace. You may hit a well by accident, I can do it on principle. The statements and comments in this article are based on information and references believed to be true and factual. When you attend as many events as the WWDR Team does, you seem to expect the unexpected. So what was unexpected at the ENERGY EXPO in Billings, MT? It was truly an honor for Jan and me to be seated with former Vice President Dick Cheney. It would have been enough just to be in the room with such a fine, learned, experienced gentleman, but to be seated with him - was an exception- al once-in-a-lifetime happening. You have seen on many occas- sions how the WWDR Team positions itself to get the very best photographs possible for the associations we work with, as well as for WorldWide Drilling Resource ® itself. If you have ever noticed as well, many of the other publications “copy our lead”. Funny, huh? Guess they know, WE know what we are doing. So, as we were trying to decide the best possible location ~ low and behold it was with The Honorable Dick Cheney himself, his grandaughter, and other key speakers! I want to go into detail about that event and how exciting each aspect of it was and will be in the future, but since my space in this issue is limited, I just wanted to give you a heads up for the next, Ronnie’s Real World! see you on the trail ...
