We met very profession- al Italian visitors." MAN Diesel & Turbo was among the exhibitors, and Eleanor Migliorini summed up the results for the German brand by saying, "We had many contacts and even sold a number of vehicles, so we are satisfied with the investment; we also achieved good feedback from the outdoor area and the live demos of our vehicles, which were always very crowded with highly-motivated visitors." Mercedes, the other German giant attending Samoter, also had a rewarding show. "We could not miss the appoint- ment with Samoter 2014," said Enrico Ferraioli, marketing manager at Truck Mercedes-Benz Italy. "We attended the event with an inside stand and an outside area...in a quarry, as the ideal terrain for test driving our new Arocs in live condi- tions. Samoter visitors also enthusiasti- cally greeted the initiative that gave them the chance to learn about the character- istics of new vehicles, after having driven them over dedicated routes; in the four days of the event, visitors to Samoter were joined by more than 3000 clients who crowded the Mercedes quarry site for a total of over 500 test drives. Excellent results in terms of attendance and sat- isfaction for sector clients and operators, which promises well for the future. We hope they will remember Samoter 2014 as the moment when the recovery in the Italian construction industry began." The four-day event was attended by more than 40,000 visitors from55 countries including France, Germany, Switzerland, USA, United Kingdom, Russia, Slovenia, China, Brazil, and Spain. There were 445 exhibiting companies from 27 countries. Guido Peveri, Terex dealer manag- er, was delighted with the outcome of the show. They finalized sales and created excellent contacts for new distribution points. “The [50- year] edition was the hinge- pin between past and future, relaunching - together with all trade associations - the event and the sector as the landmark for the construction industry. Coscheduling with Asphaltica and [the] partnership with Siteb proved to be a highly successful choice and was much appreciated by visitors and exhibitors," said CEO and Director General of Veronaf iere, Giovanni Mantovani.
