WorldWide Drilling Resource ® 16 DECEMBER 2014 John Eugene “Gene” Deitman (1945~2014) John Eugene “Gene” Deitman passed away unexpectedly at his home in DuBois, Pennsylvania, on September 6, 2014. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army hav- ing served during the Vietnam War. Gene was a founding partner of O.C.I. Division of Global Drilling Suppliers, Inc., and previously worked for Star Iron Works. He loved to work, and valued the friendship of his coworkers. He made friends easily because of his sense of humor, quick wit, and infectious laugh. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved spending time with his family the most. Gene is survived by his wife Janice; daughter Beth Ann; son Chris; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and other family. V. Dennis Millgard (1937~2014) V. Dennis Mi l lgard of South Lyon, Michigan, left this earth August 30, 2014. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Dennis later married and moved to Michigan in 1961. In 1963, he started The Millgard Corporation, a specialty deep foundation company. Throughout his life, Dennis was active in several industry organizations. In his leisure time, he enjoyed many hobbies such as painting, sketching, photography, and gardening, as well as sailing and golfing. He also took special delight in his grandchildren. Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy; son R. Scot; daughters Christine, Sue (Mike), Cheryl (Paul), and Lynn (Ryan); 13 grandchildren, and extended family. In Memoriam The International Association of Foundation Drilling reported the loss of two good friends who were influential people in the industries it serves.
