So I thought I wou l d g i ve some clarifica- tion on the real r e a s o n W o r l d W i d e D r i l l i n g Resource, Inc. , began back in 2003. Those of you who already know, please bear with me and enjoy the tour again. This company was founded on the belief that “diversification” of the drilling industry was of utmost importance. The reason being, if you were in a drilling field and that aspect of drilling slowed down, you would have gained knowl- edge of other fields you may be well qualified to jump into to insure your future and that of your family. So, take a moment, look at THIS ISSUE, and see that it is broken down into sections. Those sections are placed in alphabetical order. This allows those of us who are interested in one aspect of drilling to readily find it and read what we like. The f i rst sect ion star ts wi th Construction-Geotechnical . With any- thing that has to be constructed, the pre-construction always starts with a hole in the earth ~ drilling! The next sect ion moves onto Directional drilling. This method of drilling is used more than ever before. Even in the gas and oil business - it is referred to as horizontal drilling - directional means it goes to the direction you want it to go. You can direct that horizontal directional drilling machine right to the specific spot you want to arrive at! Now look at Environmental . Think it’s a thing of the past - oh no it’s not! Every drilling professional has a deep- seated belief that all of our natural resources need to be protected. This is a very important part of securing the safety of those resources. Don’t let environmental drilling get pushed aside. Mining as wel l as Core dri l l ing involves Exploration (find out what’s down there or in there) and Blasthole allows you to get deep inside those mines to retreive the ore you are after. The Shallow Gas & Oil section was named shallow because - the ques- tion still arises - how shallow is shallow? AND of course, this magazine does NOT cover extremely DEEP offshore drilling. We do in fact know our limitations. We stick to onshore drilling, but do in fact cover those BIG onshore drills . Geothermal drilling has become a very interesting topic and WorldWide was the first drilling magazine to cover it. We still remain the one magazine Good morning Dr. Kwader, I enjoyed reading your short arti- cle titled “Environmental Monitoring - Well Worth It!” The article was in- formative, concise, and well within the comprehension level of the ge- neral public. HVAC has its challenges, and we will bring the information that is important for our subscribers to move forward in that field as well. Mining has a special section - even though the Exploration-Blasthole does cover some of it. Since there are many aspects of mining - deep mines as well as quarries, many different types of drilling rigs and other equipment are needed - so it deserved its own focus. Now we come upon Water - this section was renamed this year because WATER is not only water well drilling for homeowners, businesses, or com- munities, but in fact it includes such things as IRRIGATION and WASTE- WATER DISPOSAL and more . So beginning this month, you will begin to see articles in those areas as well. DRILLING is the focus of this mag- azine, but not the only focus . For goodness sake, you don’t just drill a hole in Mother Earth and walk away... FINISH THE JOB! Pipe, Tanks, Fittings, Pumps, Electrical Gadgets, and much more are needed to COMPLETE THE JOB you started. Everything it takes is or should be included here. If you don’t find it - ASK US!
