36 JULY 2014 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Oil Field Discovery in Colombia Adapted from Information Provided by GeoPark Geopark Limited, the Latin American oil and gas explorer, operator, and con- solidator with operations and produc- ing properties in Chile, Colombia, Brazil, and Argentina, announced successful drilling and testing of the new Aruco 1 exploration well in the Llanos 34 Block in the central Llanos basin of Colombia. GeoPark operates and has a 45% work- ing interest in the Llanos 34 Block. GeoPark drilled the Aruco 1 well to a total depth of 10,705 feet, and a test conducted with an electrical submersible pump into the formation resulted in a production rate of approximately 1154 gross barrels of oil per day (bpd). Further production history will be required to determine stabilized flow rates and the extent of the reservoir. The Aruco discovery represents the sixth new oil field discovery by GeoPark on the Llanos 34 Block in Colombia. Since acquiring the block in 2012, with no production or reserves, GeoPark has grown production to over 15,000 bpd gross (over 6700 bpd net). According to James F. In Memoriam Amos Lloyd Savoy (1934~2014) WWDR was saddened to hear from GEFCO/King Oil Tools of the passing of Amos Lloyd Savoy on May 19, 2014. Lloyd was born in Eunice, Louisiana, and graduated from St. Edmond Catholic School. Shortly after meeting and marrying the love of his life, Ursula “Sis” in 1954, he began a long and prosperous career in the oilfield industry. Lloyd started with Oilwell Supply Division, United States Steel. Although he left for a short time to pur- sue the insurance industry, his true passion was in oil, so he returned to Oilwell. After retirement, Lloyd and Sis enjoyed spending time with family and friends; but work always seemed to call him back. He was then employed at King Oil Tools until the time of his passing. Enjoying family and friends, relaxing on the river, and hunting white tail deer in West Texas were what he treasured most. Lloyd is survived by Sis; daughter Debra (Jeff); sons Keith (Karin) and Amos (Kay); five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The management and staff of WWDR send their sincere condolences to Lloyd’s family, friends, and colleagues. WWDR photo of Lloyd at the 2009 Offshore Technology Conference.
