Fond Memories of the Hagers... by Veronica I. “Ronnie” Jones It came as a sudden and very sad surprise to me as I watched the screen during the luncheon at this year’s Alberta Water Well Drilling Convention, to see Audrey and Fred appear on that screen. A celebrat ion of thei r l i fe appeared before me, and I had no idea they were not going to be at this year’s convention. It was an eloquent memo- rial given to these wonderful people, and the audience was held speech- less. No one knows how much time each of us have here on earth, but each moment this couple had here was truly amazing, and they made the most of a beautiful life together. Audrey Edna Hager (Kruse) was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and grew up in the Calgary area; while Gottfred “Fred” Hager was born in Burstall, Saskatchewan. Who would have ever thought they would be joined in wedlock, let alone for 62 wonderful years? Not only were they partners in marriage, Audrey was also Fred’s part- ner for over 30 years at Interprovincial Drilling Contractors (now being carried on by their grandson Tyler). Fred was a widely recognized and wel l respected leader in the dri l l ing industry as a Founder, President, and Honorary Life Member of the Alberta Water Wel l Dri l l ing Association. In addition, his great delight was music, and he would never pass up the oppor- tunity to play the guitar or banjo and sing. Fred and Audrey are survived by their loving son, David (Kate) Hager, and daughter Donna (Cam) Crawford; grandchildren, Tyler, Carmen (Brian), Andrew (Ashly), Katie (Mark), and many great-grandchildren. Brad and Donna Meyers, two very special peo- Audrey and Fred Hager (5-12-1932 ~ 11-22-2013) (8-25-1924 ~ 1-19-2014) ple in their lives will miss them greatly. It is truly a difficult thing to go through the thousands upon thousands of photographs here at WorldWide Drilling Resource, Inc., looking for such smiling faces and knowing you will never see them again. But to honor these two dear friends, I wanted to share these with you. Such a smi le wi l l always be remembered. Nuestro acuerdo con GE es un importante paso adelante en este objetivo." João Geraldo Ferreira, presidente y gerente ejecutivo de GE Oil & Gas Latín América reiteró la dedicación de la com- pañía en este proyecto. "GE está com- prometida con México, la innovación tecnológica, y con la asociación con nuestros clientes en materia de investi- gación y desarrollo," dijo. "Al ofrecer una amplia gama de tecnologías de gas y petróleo, respaldados por nuestra red global de laboratorios de investigación, podemos ayudar a México a desarrollar los recursos energéticos y energía de la fuerza de trabajo necesaria para el siglo 21." Este acuerdo también agregara valor económico, social y ambiental para los proyectos de PEMEX. Mejorando la pro- ductividad de los pozos y reducirá tam- bién la tasa de disminución natural y aumentar las reservas.
