26 MARCH 2014 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Doosan Portable Power Partners with Purple Heart Homes Adapted from Information by Doosan Portable Power AMarine Corps Veteran who served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom recentlymoved fromSpartanburg, South Carolina, to a new home in Denver, North Carolina, thanks to the efforts of Purple Heart Homes, volunteering organ- izations like Doosan Portable Power, and community members who came togeth- er to create a community of new homes for service-disabled Veterans. Last summer, members of the Doosan Portable Power team donned tool belts and picked up paint brushes to help build a home for an eight-year serv- ice Veteran, his wife, and their four chil- dren, as part of an ongoing effort by Purple Heart Homes to provide service-disabled Veterans and their families with cus- tomized homes that best fit their needs. The team spent the day removing sheet rock, sanding particles and paste, paint- ing the interior, and helped hang siding. Amy Meadows, Doosan Portable Power marketing communications spe- cialist, organized the Doosan Portable Power team participation, spurred by her personal connection with families of Veterans. “My husband is a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, and every day, I’m amazed by the sacrifice military families throughout our country make,” Meadows said. “Organizations like Purple Heart Homes make an incredible impact on these families - letting them know their sacrifices are recognized, their service is appreciated, and that as a community, we’re grateful.
