Focus on Ontario Ground Water Association Spring Convention 2014 Mark your calendars for April 3-5, 2014, in Niagara-on-the-Lake! The OGWA (Ontario Ground Water Association) is pleased to be hosting its 62 nd conven- tion in Ontario’s beautiful wine country and geologically unique Niagara Gorge. White Oaks Resort and Spa will serve as the venue and first-class accom- modation facility. Outside displays will be conveniently located immediately adjacent to the trade show, allowing attendees to effortlessly meet with all the exhibitors. Opening day (Thursday) will consist of the grand opening with live music, wine/beer, and hors d’oeuvres. After, attendees may either opt to relax in the resort or join their fellow members in the 1200-square-foot hospitality suite with outside patio and fire pit, which is avail- able all three evenings. On Friday, members will be able to attend the trade show and take part in their respective divisional meetings culmi- nating with the Annual General Meeting. Family members have full use of the White Oaks’ facility including spa, ten- nis, and weight room, or just relax in the pool. A free shuttle will be made avail- able if one chooses to visit the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to stroll along its quaint shopping district. If something “busier” is desired, the city of Niagara Falls is only a 10-minute drive away. The evening will wrap up with the President’s Dinner and live and silent auctions. The final day (Saturday) of the con- vention will be a day filled with continuing education credit technical training which includes a guided walking tour of the Niagara Gorge by Terry Carter, chief geologist for the Ministry of Natural Resources. Another option, for those not requiring training hours, is to join the afternoon walking tour of the gorge or take an all-day trip to a winery (includes lunch) at the Inn on the Twenty. The evening will consist of dinner featuring the live entertainment of “dueling pianos” in the White Oaks Ball Room. White Oaks has blocked rooms with prices for superior guestrooms.
