Mining Industry Rewards Students Adapted from Information by the Tug Valley Mining Institute At the Tug Valley Mining Institute (TVMI) dinner meeting, six 2014 scholar- ship recipients were announced. The top two $6000 scholarships were awarded to Chelsey Curry and Makayla Simpkins. Four $750 scholarships were awarded to Caitlyn Hunt, Gregory Murphy, Zachary Perry, and Taylor Runyon. Guest speaker, Governor Paul Patton the University of Pikeville Chancellor dis- cussed the importance of higher educa- tion and how it benefits every individual.
