By 2008, Drill King was able to move into a new 60,000-square-foot manufac- turing facility in Mansfield, Texas, and acquire new CNC (computer numerical control) machines. This gave the compa- ny room to expand into large-diameter bits as well as: DTH hole openers, casing crowns, reverse circulation bits, bit retaining sys- tems, casing ad- vance systems, threaded and retrac bits, drag bits, blade bits, pdc bi ts, and tricones. The company’s team of engineers responded to an increased demand from the construction industry for large, American-made DTH percussion ham- mer bits, by modernizing their CNC equipment. These efforts led to Drill King becoming the only ISO 9001:2008 quality- system certified U.S. manufacturer who can produce a complete 42-inch OD (out- side diameter) hammer bit in-house. They specialize in designing custom hammer bits to suit the individual needs of each customer. The company proudly offers a diverse line of DTH bits ranging from 2-42 inches in diameter for use in most leading ham- mer shanks. When you drill in a wide variety of rock formations and environments, you need a bit that can handle the job, which is why Drill King designs and manufactures bits in a wide variety of face configurations (con- cave, convex, flat face, and drop center). They also offer an extensive range of tungsten carbide grades (standard, pre- mium M4, and dyanite) and shapes (dome, parabolic, ballistic, multidome, and chisel), as well as diamond en- hanced carbide buttons. Each bit is manufactured using the highest quality raw materials available in the industry today, and each individual bit is inspected before it leaves the manufac- turing facility to assure every machined dimension is in accordance with its de- sign. All heat treating is thoroughly scru- tinized to assure customers are receiving quality products for their drilling opera- tions.
