WorldWide Drilling Resource

54 JUNE 2015 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® Oil/Water Exploration by Harold White Have you ever heard that no sci- entist from any college knows how to find underground creeks and rivers mov- ing fluid underground? The reason for bringing this up again and again is people need to be aware and have some idea of how the under- ground water cycle works before they vote on who owns it and how to control it. To control water is far beyond the apparent knowledge of the scientists of today, and they will not learn overnight. The area I am in now is the Oregon Outback, thousands of square miles of sagebrush desert. Under this land is an uncounted myriad of creeks and rivers - way more than enough water for every farm and town. There is no shortage of water, it only appears that way to the scientists because they can’t see what I see. In the early days of the Oregon Trail, settlers came into the desert and built little houses. They had their dreams of farming, and failed for lack of equipment and water. Into this same desert came a mod- ern settler with the same dream. Now, we have the equipment, the power, and the knowledge to make the dream come true. But, the sagebrush desert is win- ning again in this modern time, and the farmers are losing their dream of a life- time again - not for all the old reasons, no, this is something new, something unexpected. Water in Oregon is being controlled, and the people are being told they can- not or may not be able to drill an irriga- tion well on their own farm or farms. If they do get a permit to drill, the state controls the well and will charge the farm for every gallon of water pumped. All of this, caused by trying to save water which is flowing to the salt ocean at a fast pace, almost a run. The best way to save water and help life is to pump the water out onto the ground. If you want something to do to save water, try stopping the big rivers - let some of that flow to the farm and city. To understand what I see, look at a photo of Thousand Springs, Idaho. There are 1000 creeks coming through what used to be a large sagebrush desert, to a rock cliff wall, then springs out - a small picture of the speed and volume of underground creeks.
