WorldWide Drilling Resource ® 15 MARCH 2015 Save Time and Money with Rockmore’s ROK 600T Adapted from a Press Release from Rockmore International Rockmore International has manu- factured rock drilling tools for more than 65 years and recently, the company intro- duced its T series DTH hammer line and the first model in this class, the ROK 600T. This new addition to Rockmore’s existing range of DTH hammers is a breakthrough for DTH drilling technology. In addition to its ultra high-performance features, the new T series design ham- mers utilize drill bits with standard shank connections which no longer require plas- tic parts commonly known as blow tubes or foot valves, offering many technical and economical advantages. “We recognized a trending demand in the DTH drilling sector for a high-per- formance DTH tool that could utilize industry standard drill bits without plastic components...to increase reliability yet not compromise drilling efficiency,“ stated Pejman Eghdami, executive vice pres- ident of Rockmore International. The new tubeless T series DTH ham- mer design is the result of extensive re- search, development, and field-testing. “With our emerging T class DTH ham- mers, we are offering the drilling com- munity a balanced solution of improved reliability without compromising any drilling performance,” said Eghdami. One of the biggest issues with DTH bits is blow tube/foot valve breakage dur- ing drilling operations. This can be cat- astrophic since the hammer will cease to function immediately. This is particularly damaging to drill time efficiency if the interruptions occur in deep-hole applica- tions, requiring the hammer to be re- trieved out of the hole for bit replacement. The T series hammers will alleviate costly downtimes by eliminating the plastic com- ponent susceptible to breakage. The ROK 600T is a six-inch class model with high-performance drilling characteristics rated for drilling between 6.1- and 7-inch-diameter holes for blast- hole applications in mining and construc- tion. It is also suitable for water well drilling since it exhibits good in-hole flushing used to evacuate rock chips in deep applica- tions. As with all of Rockmore’s DTH ham- mers, the new ROK 600T takes advan- tage of Rockmore’s patented SonicFlow technology, which optimizes airflow by simplifying and streamlining the air paths to minimize backflow and turbulence, delivering more energy to the piston.
