WorldWide Drilling Resource

52 SEPTEMBER 2015 WorldWide Drilling Resource ® A Backup Plan for Peace of Mind Adapted from Information Provided by Constant Water, LLC Constant Water is an automatic backup water supply for homes and businesses on water wells. Thus far, this brand new product for the well and plumbing markets has been strongly received by homeowners, as well as industry profes- sionals. Well owners know water is a necessity, not a luxury; and when you lose power, you lose water. Constant Water solves this problem by automatically activating in the event of a power outage to provide 40-120 gallons of water, under pressure, to an entire home or building. The basic Constant Water system consists of a control unit and a 40-gallon tank which is plumbed in-line to the existing structure's water line. In-line plumbing configuration assures the tanks are always full, and water in the tank is always fresh. Two additional tanks can be connected to the basic system to provide up to 120 gallons of water during an emergency. Upon loss of power, the battery-powered control unit compresses air into the tank's internal bladder to pressurize water in the tank to 50 psi. The battery in the control unit is sized to provide the full 120-gal- lon water capacity and operate between 30-50 psi throughout the house, eliminating the need to fill tubs and sinks, or buy and store bottled water in prepa- ration for a power outage. Constant Water's "Manual Mode" also allows homes and businesses on unre- liable public water systems to have reliable emergency water available. We frequently take the ready availability of water for granted until it isn't there. Constant Water solves a known problem in a simple, cost-effective, reliable way, at a price point much lower than the cost of installing, then operating, whole- house generator sys- tems. Both the well drilling and plumbing communities are ex- cited about making Constant Water avail- able to new and exist- ing customers. It provides a great opportunity to call past clients and offer a cost-effective solution to a problem they will face in the future. Some well installers are planning to add the Constant Water system in conjunction with new well installations because they know their customers will experience water loss at some point. This not only represents a new exciting revenue opportunity for well drilling contractors, but also security and peace-of-mind for the end-user (your customer) when they need it most. Judson Walls has been designing and developing Constant Water since 2008 and now has the system in manufacturing. Constant Water is NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 (Lead Free) certified, and is expected to make a market debut very soon. Will your customers be without water when... j the power goes out? j their pump fails? j the water main breaks? j their generator quits? Constant Water systems can be easily disconnected and transported to new locations.
