Development Phase Starts for Geothermal Power Plant Adapted from a Press Release by PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh (PT SEML) is in the development phase of the Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) Muara Laboh project, which involves an 80-megawatt power plant as part of the first geothermal working area in the South Solok District, West Sumatra Province of Indonesia. The project will involve a series of activities, including drilling eight pro- duction and three injection wells, and the construction of field facilities, such as the power plant , which wi l l be operated for the purposes of electrici- ty production from geothermal resources. The development of the power plant is expected to be completed by the middle of 2019. The electricity generated will be distributed to PT PLN (Persero) under a 30-year power purchase agreement. To develop the PLTP project, PT SEML has appointed drilling contractor PT Plumpang Raya Anugerah, and appointed the EPC contractor, a consortium between Sumitomo Corporation and Industrial Engineering, with the tur- bine and generator being supplied by Fuji Electric. The PLTP Muara Laboh project will assist South Solok Regency in particular and West Sumatera Province generally, by increasing employment opportunities for about 1200 people and providing business opportunities to local entrepre- neurs during the 30-month construction period.
