Geoprobe ® Rolls Out the Orange Carpet by Ed Moranski, Chief Marketing Officer WorldWide Drilling Resource ® A cool and downright cold morning, gave way to blue skies and warm temperatures to wel- come a crowd of more than 250 customers and guests to the Geoprobe ® Open House on April 26, 2018, in Salina, Kansas. The Conference Center at the Rolling Hills Zoo was the setting for the meet and greet at the Customer Appreciation Dinner the night before. Musical entertainment was provided by Geoprobe ® ’s own Tony Bowell (great job, very talented); President Mel Kejr provided opening remarks while Tools Engineer Manager Mike Carlin and Sales & Marketing/Director Tom Omli kept the crowd on their toes with Geoprobe ® trivia. Geoprobe ® was started in 1987 with two founding partners, President Mel Kejr and Vice President Tom Christy. This open house was an inspirational journey as to how far they have come since then. The Salina, Kansas, facility now employs over 100 people and has several buildings in the area. With the 2017 purchase of DRILLMAX ® , a manufacturer of geothermal and water well rigs for nearly 34 years, based in Ocala, Florida, Geoprobe ® moves ever forward to increase customer satisfaction. The Open House provided an opportunity for seasoned operators, as well as newbies, to get up close to the drill rigs, view prod- uct displays, and sneak a peek at some new products, such as the 3100GT and 150GT geotechnical rigs. What a great time to discuss drilling operations with the men and women who design, build, and service the equipment - to interact with the Geoprobe ® / DRILLMAX ® Team. Attendees had a chance to see drills in action, make new friends, and discuss their own operating experiences with the staff. Oh, did I mention ice cream? Along with lunch and a factory tour, all attending had some great homemade ice cream made by employees on-site with a late-1930s Unstyled A John Deere tractor. A perfect way to end a successful, educational, and fun day. To see all the photos from this event, go to www.worldwidedrillingresource.com or click here. GEO Photos by WWDR . Tony and his guitar. you ask me if I believe in water witch- ing, I would say no. I believe it works. It reminds me of a piano. Some people know the piano and can play it beautifully. A little kid can climb up on the bench and go bang, bang on the keys and make a lot of noise and say, “Look Mommy and Daddy. I can play the piano.” If you want to know about the piano, call a pianist or the company making them. If you want to know something about what I do, contact me.
