WorldWide Drilling Resource®

Oil/Water Exploration by Harold White I was going 100 miles south to do a water location for a well. The place was close to a restaurant called Heaven On Earth. This is a very popular place, even preachers talk about it. Anyway, we were going like 60 miles per hour to get there. I’ve always wanted to go to a heavenly place, so I told Tuajuana to speed it up to 75, I would like to get there as soon as I can. We were fol- lowing other cars. They were going fast too, like they really wanted to get there, and wouldn’t you know it? There was a cop car parked in the median with a camera taking pictures. I didn’t know there was a speed limit on how fast you could get there. Lucky day for us, the cop was already busy with his early birds. So much for the saying about early birds. When I got to the place to do the location, I expected it to be a farm as usual, but it was a four-lot piece of prop- erty with old houses and outbuildings in the process of being demolished. They had torn the house apart and made a big burn pile. Flames were 20-plus feet high. It was face-cooking hot, and felt like it every time I passed through the area between the garage and the burn pile. I did not want to wait for the fire to go down just to finish my job. Later, we went back to the Heaven On Earth restaurant, so I felt like I went to hell and back in about five hours.
