The “Idiots” Corner by “Billy Bob Smith” Are you an annoying person? Know anyone who annoys you? Got too many people in your life who are just annoying? Well, let me tell you - most idiots are really good at annoying others, and they don't even need to practice. You are not going to believe this, but while wandering through my favorite local bookstore, I found a book on the shelf titled “How To Be Really Annoying, Mastering the Art of Aggravation” (100+ pages of unique ways to annoy others - as if there weren’t enough in the world already). Can you believe it? There are people (like this author) showing others how to be even more annoying than normal. What is happening to the world? I decided to buy the book and see if there were any behaviors I could adopt or share with you to help you annoy more people in your life, or understand why there are so many annoying people in the world. The bottom line - in general - annoying people are idiots. So that makes us all idiots in one way or another. I’ll wager someone annoyed you today with something, or you annoyed someone else in some way. Right? Let’s just hope it wasn’t a customer, employee, or spouse. These people, over time, will get even if we are not careful and just keep annoying the crap out of them with annoying stuff. Had enough of the word “annoying” yet? Well, I’ve just kept repeating it to see how many times I had to say it before you felt I was being too annoying. Gotcha. Okay, here are a few common annoying behaviors many people are guilty of, for you to think about. The book has over 500 ways, but you have better things to do, so I’ll keep the list short. ; Always be late. ; Talk really loud on your cell phone in public. ; Tailgate every driver in front of you. ; Cut in front of people in line. ; Always interrupt people. ; Never return stuff you borrow. ; Talk nonstop at a staff meeting. ; Bump the airline seat in front of you, nonstop. ; Say the word “like” several times in every sentence. ; Complain about everything. ; Play your car radio really loud, with the windows down. ; Never say thank you - ever. ; Never say goodbye at the end of a phone call. ; Always take others for granted. ; Never take responsibility - blame everyone or everything all the time. Guilty of any of these? Okay, I’m sure I have your attention, so I’ll leave you with two questions. Who in your life annoys you the most, and why? Is it really them, or your intolerance? The GD 250HDD pump features a high rod load rating of 50,000 pounds, making it extremely tough and long lasting. It is designed to run at slower speeds while continuing to match the performance of existing pumps. It is capable of producing 300 gpm (gallons per minute) at 1400 psi (pounds per square inch), while operating under 200 rpm (revolutions per minute). At this speed, the pump delivers the same output, flow, and pressure with less violent actions, wear, and friction. Ryan Huseman, lead engineer on the project said, “The weight to horsepower ratio of the GD 250HDD surpasses all other industry competitors. The GD 250HDD packs a huge amount of power in a very small dimensional envelope, which makes it ideal for the HDD market.” For more than 160 years, Gardner Denver has been building a legacy of product innovation in pumping technology. According to Brandon Janda, product manager for Gardner Denver HPS, “With the GD 250HDD pump, our expertise is now being used to improve operations in the HDD market. The components of the new pump have been designed using Gardner Denver’s decades of experience in the industrial and petroleum industries. We have now taken this very robust field-proven technology and applied it to HDD pumps, introducing a 100%American-made, rugged, longer lasting industrial pump - helping customers reduce downtime, extend consumable life, and ultimately tackle bigger, tougher projects in less time.” Weighing less than 4000 pounds, the GD 250HDD has a maximum flowrate of 460 gpm and the ability to reach pressures up to 3000 psi. This triplex pump also offers a 5-inch stroke, and 250 breaking horsepower. It can be used in several applications including tunnelling under rivers and roads and installing sewerage systems, water pipes, fiber-optic lines, and pipelines. DIR
