29 APRIL 2021 WorldWide Drilling Resource® In Memoriam William John “Bill” Kleinfelt (1931~2021) The Michigan Ground Water Association (MGWA) sadly reported William John “Bill” Kleinfelt left this life on February 24, 2021. He was the last president of the Michigan Water Well Drillers Association before the organization changed to MGWA. Born in Grand Ledge, Bill graduated from Olivet High School in 1949, worked briefly at Oldsmobile, then joined the National Guard and started working for Kleinfelt Well Drilling in 1950. He married Dolores in 1951, and together they eventually co-owned and operated the business for many years, retiring in 1999. He and Dolores took many trips to the different casinos across the state. He did a variety of things after retirement, but really liked mowing his lawn, and his grandson Thomas’ lawn since it was connected, and even way down the side of the road and back. Bill is survived by his children William Bryan (Wanda), Keith Alan (Kelli), and Jane (Steven); grandchildren Matthew (Rebecca), Ashley (JT), Sarah (Jeremy), Liesl (Steve), Kali, Thomas, and Tyler; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Carol; and brother-in-law Nyle. He was preceded in death by Dolores and siblings David, Nancy, and Joan. Lest we forget . . .
