Among the semifinalists was BoldCypress LLC, whose team lead is Nathan Holmes, a Missouri Farm Bureau member. Holmes’ innovation, PumpTrakr, was developed by his farmer-owned tech company. After fighting the irrigation battle for years, he looked for a better, more efficient way. His app is a fully integrated and automated irrigation management system. PumpTrakr has many features making it a versatile tool for irrigation management. There are two available views on the mobile app: the pump list and the map view. The pump list view contains dynamic, scrollable “active” and “inactive” pump lists with icons displaying pump maintenance concerns. This view also includes start time, end time, and run time indicators along with a real-time fuel gauge with autofuel type and autotank size calculations. The map view shows the same information with the added feature of colorcoded markers for active and inactive pumps, as well as individual field display sorted by the closest pumps. Users can communicate about maintenance issues, repairs, or refilling tanks. Pump options start with selecting the pump, field, and section for irrigation. Power units can be easily named or changed. A timer to turn off or switch pumps is included. Pumping session notes or maintenance concerns can be recorded along with viewing pump history. The fuel cycle information allows users to adjust the fuel rate to match actual consumption and to reset the fuel level. The virtual fuel tank displays fuel type, amount of fuel, and percentage remaining. A desktop app with the same features as the mobile app, including all irrigation systems visible at a glance, makes for easy setup of fields, pumps, and power units. Team members can be added, edited, or removed to keep current. The desktop app makes printing various reports easy: repairs, refueling work orders, and water, power unit, and fuel usage. PumpTrakr’s base system can be customized to seamlessly add features matching individual operations. Users can monitor real-time information about the field without having to be there. Gathered and organized to be distributed at the touch of a button, this information is critical to efficient irrigation systems. BoldCypress LLC.
