Born in Glasgow, Scotland, John immigrated to Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he grew up and graduated from Queens University. Beginning in 1970, John had a long and accomplished career with INCO Ltd., where he retired as vice president of Ontario operations. He built strong and lasting bonds with the workforce at every plant he was stationed at. His keen knowledge and no-nonsense approach to mining and its processes, coupled with his ability to relate and communicate, were key to his success and helping others recognize their potential. He also volunteered on many boards, initiatives, and charitable organizations. He was an avid outdoorsman and member of the Copper Cliff Curling Club. John is survived by his son Sean (Liz); grandsons Benjamin and Quinton; brother Paul (Jane); sister Patricia (Bob); nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeannette. Lest we forget...
