We’re very proud of this most important certification.” Judy Burkett annouced she will be retiring after 40 years of service to the drilling industry. Judy was raised in the gas and oil industry with her father who had a drilling company in San Angelo, Texas. She started her career in down-the-hole products (DTH) in 1981, as an administrative assistant and quickly moved into sales. She soon became sales manager and eventually vice president. After 15 years, she made a career move to another DTH manufacturer. Twelve years later, Judy decided it was time to start her own business. Along with longtime friend David Griffin, she began Rock-Tech International in 2008, specializing in DTH hammers, bits, and equipment. She has been a valued part of the Texas Ground Water Association for many years and will be greatly missed. Congratulations on your well-deserved retirement, Judy! REED Manufacturing in Erie, Pennsylvania, is celebrating 125 years of supplying the highest quality pipe tools and vises. Still housed in the historic building at 1425 West 8th Street, REED remains an Erie landmark. The secret of REED’s continuing success can be attributed to its corporate culture of excellence and the quality of its company associates. Today, the company does business with more than 100 countries. REED is eager to continue its efforts to improve customer offerings throughout its next 125 years. Simmons Manufacturing’s Mo Rainey will be stepping down after 25 years of leading the sales and marketing efforts for Simmons Manufacturing. Mo is well-known for his enthusiastic and tireless work, and his leadership over the years has earned him the respect of the water well industry as a whole. Simmons President West Soward said, "Mo is a friend to so many at Simmons, to our customers, to other vendors in the industry, and to me personally. We will miss him and wish him nothing but the best in the future." When asked about his time at Simmons, Mo’s response was, "It had been [a] great ride and for the most part a sweet ride". He added, all three of the Engeman generations he’s worked with treated him with great respect, and it has been an honor to work with such a fine family organization. Mo will continue to work with Simmons for several more months, visiting customers, attending customer events, and helping to transfer his years of knowledge and experience to ensure a smooth transition. Joe Jankowski, regional sales manager, will take over the service of Mo’s territories starting April 4th. Mo has been a dear friend to the WWDR Team over the years. We all wish him the best and will look for him “on the trail”.
