I hadn’t been to my native country since 2006, and I was excited to be back. An impressive 530,000 visitors from over 200 countries converged on the Messe München Exhibition Center. It was an amazing sight. Exhibitors were also well represented with over 3400 exhibitors in attendance, 1346 from Germany and 2074 representing 57 other countries. On display were the latest products and innovations for the construction and min- ing machinery industries. This year’s event broke all previous records for exhibitor numbers and exhi- bition space, it also attracted the highest number of visitors. "This is very good for our industry in these turbulent times, and it will certainly give it a boost," said Johann Sailer, chairman of theConstruction Equipment and Bui lding Material Machinery Association of VDMA and president of the Committee for the European Construction Equipment Industry. Klaus Dittrich, chairman and CEO of Messe München said, "Our exhibitors were delighted with the quality of the visitors here and with the international spread represented among them. Good business has been done here. With over 200,000 visitors from outside Germany, the number of international attendees was higher than ever before. The response this year has simply been outstanding." The six million-square-foot exhibition space was truly impressive! Both indoor and outdoor displays were massive and incredible to experience firsthand. bauma is the uncontest- ed, number one trade show for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles, and construction equipment. Make plans to attend the next bauma Munich, April 11-17, 2016. It is sure to be as spectacular as this year’s event, and one you won’t want to miss! Carol and I enjoyed supper at Wirtshaus Zur Brez’n. WWDR photos. Munich International Trade Fairs captured these photos of the opening, USA Pavilion, and outdoor display. This unique display showed mining operations from a different perspective! It was great to see the familiar companies and faces of Doosan, Bit Brokers, Center Rock, and ChemGrout. A local kindergarten class came to enjoy the experience, as did Iron Man, and a group in traditional Bavarian attire. Hyduke Makes Top 50 Adapted from a release by Hyduke Energy Services, Inc.
