Getting to Know The Joseph Assignment by Sam Ackers Sales Dept., Buckeye Drill Company In May of 2013, I received a phone cal l from Terry Reed, an as- sociate with The Joseph Assignment located in Matteson, Illinois. Mr. Reed had looked at the Buckeye Drill Web site and made an appointment to tour our facility in Zanesville, Ohio. On their initial visit, Rev. Dr. Alexis Felder, Terry Reed, and Sellars Vines gained knowledge of the cable tool drilling method, while I learned about projects they were trying to accomplish. One of their projects was to provide clean water for people in third world countries. After seeing firsthand the quality of workmanship Buckeye Drill puts into each and every remanufactured or repaired well drill, and the fact Bucyrus-Erie (B-E) well drills are economically feasible to own and operate, the associates with The Joseph Assignment purchased one of our B-E 20Ws remanufactured well drills, and later purchased a second B-E 20W our shop put extensive repairs into. On January 24, 2014, a cold and snowy day in Zanesville, Terry Reed and Michael M. Price, associates with The Joseph Assignment, picked up the two drill machines. From there, they traveled to the Port of Baltimore where both machines will be shipped to Ghana, located in west Africa. The Joseph Assignment Global Initiative was started in 2005 by founder Rev. Dr. Trunell Felder and cofounder Rev. Dr. Alexis Felder. Their vision is to position the organization in the following countries: United States, Ghana, India, Angola, China, Congo, Burkina Faso, Guatemala, Haiti, South Africa, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and South America. Supporting the founders’ high-level board are directors comprised of pro- fessionals with extensive backgrounds in health, technology, education, eco- nomic development, and nonprofit man- agement. The Initiative strives to impact the poor through the following key strategies: • Provide educational opportunities for orphans, adult literacy, all nec- essary school supplies, and con- structing school buildings. • Increase global access to health- care by providing free medical clinics and exams for treatment of targeted diseases such as malaria. • Encourage individual and family self-sufficiency through agricultural/ economic development. • Ensure accessibility to clean water through a living water campaign. • Provide water, food, and shelter for orphans daily. Buckeye Drill Company is proud to have a small but very important part so Trunell and Alexis will be able to com- plete their vision by providing clean, accessible water - a necessity we take for granted every day.
