Lamb, who serves on the Governor’s Cabinet as the Small Business Advocate, used Small Business Day to recognize three of Oklahoma’s successful small businesses. One of the three companies presented with the Small Business of Excellence Award was GEFCO, an Aztec Industries Company. For more than 82 years, GEFCO has been a leader in the design and manufacture of portable drilling rigs. Lamb said, “Small business- es truly are the engine of our economy.” 2015 McEllhiney Lecturer to Focus on Drilling Fluids in Well Construction Ronald B. Peterson, Baroid Industrial Drilling Products senior account executive, will present the 2015 McEl lhiney Distinguished Lecture in Water Wel l Technology, Drilling Fluids: ACommon Sense Approach . Peterson, of South Jordan, Utah, became involved in the groundwater and minerals exploration industry in late 1977. He was one of the original team members who took the Baroid QUIK-GEL distributor market into the industrial drilling products market.
