We are very quickly getting to a point where we can’t say anything, about anything, to anyone, ever. Don’t believe me? Read on. I’ll start with a couple of quickies: Last week, I was having lunch with a casual friend and mentioned during lunch, “You’ve put on a little weight since I last saw you.” His response: “Are you saying I’m FAT?” I walked into a restaurant and asked to have a seat away from the kids who were there. Now don’t get me wrong, I like kids - well-behaved kids in public. Anyway, the hostess asked me to leave the restaurant because she said I was obviously prejudiced against children. I’m serious, this actually happened. I don’t know about you, but I have had ENOUGH... Here are a few you won’t believe: If you say the "wrong thing" in America today, you could be penalized, fired, or even taken to court. Political correctness is running rampant, and it is absolutely destroying this nation. In his novel 1984 , George Orwell imag- ined a future world where speech was greatly restricted. He called the lan- guage of the totalitarian state in his novel "Newspeak," and it bears a strik- ing resemblance to the political correct- ness we see in America right now. To make matters worse, spineless executives, managers, and business leaders everywhere are kowtowing to this nonsense because they lack the moral compass to do the right thing and the courage to stand up to it. The Missouri State Fair has per- manently banned a rodeo clown from performing just because he wore an Obama mask, and now all of the other rodeo clowns are being required to take "sensitivity training"... Government workers in Seattle have been told they should no longer use the words "citizen" and "brown bag" because they are potentially offensive. Chaplains in the U.S. military are being forced to perform gay marriages, even if it goes against their personal religious beliefs. The few chaplains who have refused to follow orders know it means the end of their careers. In America today, there are many groups absolutely obsessed with erad- icating every mention of God out of the public sphere. For example, an elemen- tary school in North Carolina ordered a six-year-old girl to remove the word "God" from a poem she wrote to honor her two grandfathers who had served in the Vietnam War. A high school track team was dis- qualified earlier this year because one of the runners "made a gesture thank- ing God" once he had crossed the fin- ish line. A college student at Sonoma State University was ordered to take off a cross she was wearing because “someone could be offended." A teacher in New Jersey was fired for giving his own Bible to a student who did not own one. Volunteer chaplains for the Charlotte- Mecklenburg Police Department have been banned from using the name of Jesus on government property. What are your thoughts?
