By the time you read this issue, we are praying you are having warmer weather than we started this 2018 year off with. January was bitter over 90 percent of the USA. Other countries “down under” are actu- ally in summer months. [January is the hottest month in Sydney, Australia, with an average temperature of 23°C (73°F) and the coldest is July at 13°C (55°F), with the most daily sunshine hours at 9 in December. The wettest month is March with an average of 164mm (6 in.) of rain. Not bad for a starter, huh? Of course you realize this magazine is being put together at the beginning of January, during the coldest time of the year, with dedicated team members from across the world. Hopefully the weather did not hamper our travels, and we made it to see each of you attending these events. Oh yes, this brings me to another point I want to remind each of you about. Do you really know the importance of attending and supporting events such as these? Several years ago I wrote a series on just that. I’m thinking each of us needs a refresher course ~ stay tuned “to this station” for upcoming issues where you will get an eye-opener.
